The Legal Broker London was founded to make the UK market for legal services work better for its consumers and suppliers.

English Law is the pre-eminent legal framework for business and international dispute resolution and the UK's law firms and court systems lead the world. English commercial law and the firms that practice it have until very recently thrived, with the top 100 firms generating global revenues of £15 billion in 2011/12; but as the UK legal market has grown in prominence, so too has its complexity and range of specialism.

Tougher economic conditions, liberalisation of the UK legal services market, technology and globalisation are spurring more efficient and cost-effective entrants into the market. Traditional billing and business models are under attack and will soon be redundant. Many of the UK's leading law firms will not survive in their current form. Only the most specialised lawyers will be able to justify higher fees.

The need for high quality corporate legal advice has never been greater, but the law has become too expensive. Greater choice and lower costs are good for business, but they also bring challenges. Buyers of legal services will face increased procurement risk because assessing the suitability of legal services providers will become more complex. Understanding the market, who are the best providers and what are the right terms upon which to instruct, is increasingly difficult.

As in other industries, where there is asymmetric information between buyers and sellers, skilled brokers have emerged. The Legal Broker London exists to bridge that knowledge gap between the buyers and suppliers of legal services. All of our advisers are experienced solicitors and barristers with extensive expertise in commercial law. The Legal Broker London reduces search and matching costs for buyers and sellers; increases consumer satisfaction by helping buyers find the right supplier for the right cost on the right terms; and rewards excellence in legal practice by driving work towards the most appropriate suppliers.
